Golfers
often exhibit a religious fevor about the game of golf. Indeed a golf course fairway,
with its columns of trees on either side, and the vault of the sky above, resembles
a kind of outdoor cathedral. And the game itself contains an element of ritual
and meditative concentration often found in spiritual practices.
