Many varieties
of white rose begin with colored buds of pink or gold. These
gradually turn white as the flower comes into full bloom.
The blossoming
of the soul begins amid impurities, "colored" by
addictions, fears, prejudices. It is our purpose, our journey
in life to rid ourselves of these encumbrances. Only when
we have freed ourselves of impurities - "the beam in
our eye" - can we see clearly God's purpose for us, the
next step in our path.
As the
obstructions drop away, one by one, we may become like a clear
glass, through which the light of the Lord shines unobstructed.
